WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR DVD WON'T PLAY
Most skipping, freezing and pixilation are caused by dirt, sweat and grease from handling. A simple way of curing this at home is to take the following steps:
-
Holding the edge of the disk (do not touch the shiny surface), breathe on the disk so condensation forms (like cleaning a pair of glasses) and then use a clean, dry cotton cloth to clean the disk (shiny side). A number of clean, soft cloths can be used including the blue micro-fibre cltoh that Video Difference sells ($1.99), a t-shirt, or even the shirt you are wearing.
-
Do not use furniture polish, water, sprays or any liquid. This could cause permanent damage to the disk.
-
After cleaning, proceed to the chapter where the problem occured. You can use the scene selection option on the main menu of the movie to get there faster.
Enjoy!!
